Our Story

Hello and welcome! We’re a family with twin boys, Blake and Nick, who just turned ten years old.
Life with twins had been both exhausting and exciting for us. Blake, the older twin by a few minutes, found his passions early on—he loves chess and soccer. Nick, the younger brother, has his own interests; he loves music, especially the piano, and he also enjoyed soccer and tennis. Both boys were healthy, engaged in their activities, and growing up happily together.
Then, about three years ago, everything changed. Nick began experiencing sudden, intense, uncontrollable shaking. At first, we had no idea what was going on. He struggled to control his body, as well as started making involuntary vocal sounds.
It was a quite challenging time for all of us, especially for Nick. After several hospital visits and tests, we finally learned that what he was experiencing was tics.
To support Nick’s recovery, we decided to pause his usual activities, allowing him time to rest and fully relax. We shifted our parenting approach from being strict to a more encouraging and supportive style. We introduced weekly family meetings, fun family activities, and trips together. We made every effort to minimize his stress and let Nick know that our family will always stand by him, no matter what.
In the spring of 2024, we began seeing signs of improvement, and Nick started feeling a little more like himself.
Through this journey, we’ve learned a lot, and we know there must be other families out there dealing with similar experiences. So, Nick proposed to create this website as a way to share our story, our struggles, and what we’ve found helpful. Our hope is to connect with other families who might be going through something similar, and if you ever want to reach out, we’d love to hear from you.
Please feel free to reach out to us via email or chat—we’re here to support each other.
